David Arivett

David was extremely gifted in music, first performing publicly at age 4. He expanded his talent to include multiple instruments, learning the piano by ear at age 13. He cultivated his love for singing and music through leading roles in High School Musicals and Acapella Choir/Madrigals, as well as arranging and performing with concert and tour choirs in Music and Seminary College.

Throughout his life, David never ceased in his thirst for spiritual knowledge and musical growth, inspiring him to compose, arrange and/or perform on recordings of over 1200 songs, spanning multiple albums, radio and television. This music spanned a wide array of styles including Worship, Big Band, Jazz, Latin and Brazilian Jazz, Classical, Choral, and Inspirational. David believed music is not just sound vibrations or notes on paper, but that when played or listened to, it can lift us out of ourselves to enjoy the very language of the heavens.

This belief inspired him to found a 20 year inspirational website and numerous social media groups (10,000 members strong) to further the importance of sharing music with colleagues and preserving it for future generations. He believed we should celebrate each day as a gift and he lived that through his music and life, which touched and inspired many throughout the US and abroad.

David’s arrangements and soulful style are so commanding that we have requests for more of his type of music all the time. He’s a master of his craft.

This is definitely our go-to page for our worship music arrangements. More than that, David has been an inspiration to us musically and spiritually. We’re thankful for his gifts!

I heard about David’s charts and decided to have a look for myself. I’m glad I did. They’re easy to read, well-produced, and are reflective of his musical imagination.

David celebrates the wonder and gift of music as something not to be taken for granted!

Songs Of David promotes the diversity and infinite variety of jazz music! I believe that Music is a gift to be enjoyed and savored! Jazz music, with its roots coming from spirituals, church, and the blues has birthed a myriad of musical styles. The Universe is filled with diversity and variety. Therefore I do not promote only one style of jazz.  Instead, I write, arrange, record, and produce jazz in it’s many forms, encouraging an open heart, open mind, and open attitude of acceptance and appreciation for the creativity and infinite musical ideas of others!

Music and religion are intimately linked and music is one of the most powerful tools to convey religious meaning. We as human beings have been given the gift of musical language which can help transform us from our humdrum, everyday existence, into something out of the ordinary. Whether music excites us or soothes us, it transports us to another place. When we play and listen to music it can lift us out of ourselves and enjoy the very language of the heavens. Music is not just sound vibrations or notes on paper – it is ecstatic language!

Songs Of David also places great emphasis on the gift and joy of learning Music.
